Ciel Capital and its JV partners have acquired a site located at junction 23 of the M5, close to the town of Bridgwater. Planning was granted in Dec 2017 for a 144 room Ibis hotel with 83 car parking spaces and a fitness room. Construction began in September 2019 and is due to complete in Q1 2021.
Set within the Woodlands Court Business Park, the five-storey Ibis Bridgwater will feature a Keepers bar and restaurant area, parking for 81 cars plus meeting facilities. With good proximity to J23 of the M5 and easy access to Bristol, Bristol Airport and Taunton, the hotel will be less than half an hour’s drive from the new Hinkley Point C nuclear power station. As the UK’s first newly built nuclear power station in over two decades, the project is expected to create over 25,000 job opportunities. The hotel will capitalise on Hinkley Point C (”HPC”) Project and wider investment into the local area over the coming years. The hotel once opened will be the largest internationally-branded hotel in the Somerset town.
