After acquiring the site in August 2018 Ciel Capital and its partners have successfully gained planning consent and agreed a franchise agreement with Marriott to open its first 155 bed extended stay hotel in the north of England.

The property currently provides 84 independent serviced apartments operating as The Northern Quarters whilst a phased refurbishment is taking place.

Works are due to start in early 2021 with completion targeted in late 2021.
